Imara means in Swahili strength, resilience and stability.
The name stands for our vision of building strong and self-determined communities across Africa.
Sabrina Morgenbesser

We are Nicko from Kenya and Sabrina from Austria, two friends who met in 2025 while working with Doctors Without Borders in Kenya.
Together, we responded to a cholera outbreak in Mombasa and witnessed firsthand that this epidemic could have been prevented with access to clean water.
From this experience, we decided to found Imara Africa – to strengthen communities through sustainable solutions in the areas of water and health.
With our backgrounds in logistics, project management, and humanitarian aid, we bring not only professional expertise but also passion, a deep sense of humanity, and the determination to create lasting change.
