FAQ – Frequently asked questions
Find all the answers here if you want to donate to Imara Africa and want to learn more about our work.

What does the name Imara Africa mean?
In Swahili, IMARA means strength, resilience, and stability. The name represents our vision of building strong and self-determined communities across Africa.
Where does Imara Africa work?
Our focus is on Africa, especially in Kenya. We work closely with local communities and partners.
What happens to my donation?
Every euro goes directly into our WASH projects in Kenya. We use donated funds specifically for sustainable solutions in the areas of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). In concrete terms, this means providing access to safe drinking water and promoting hygiene practices to prevent diseases. Our goal is to strengthen communities in the long term through training and participation in our projects.
Who are the people behind Imara Africa?
Hinter Imara Africa steht ein Team aus leidenschaftlichen Freiwilligen welche du auf „"About Us"“ Seite kennenlernen kannst. Das gesamte Team arbeitet zu 100% ehrenamtlich und ohne Bezahlung. Da wir keine Kosten für bezahlte Mitarbeiter oder teure Büromieten haben, können wir garantieren, dass alle Spenden direkt in unsere Projekte fließen.
The preferred payment methods for donating?
The preferred method of donation is a direct SEPA bank transfer to our account at Sparkasse Baden – IBAN AT10 2020 5010 0010 4628. The easiest way to do this is by scanning this QR code within your banking app.

Donations can also be made via our donation link, which supports both PayPal and credit card payments.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
At this time, donations are not yet tax-deductible. We are in the process of applying for this status and anticipate that contributions to Imara Africa will be tax-deductible starting in late 2026.
Why are recurring donations so important to us?
Your recurring donation provides us with long-term planning security for our projects. Continuous support helps us cover ongoing costs and enables us to provide rapid on-the-ground assistance in emergency situations.
How we ensure transparency and accountability?
We carefully document our projects and provide regular updates on our activities. Every year, we publish our annual and financial reports.
How can I get involved without making a financial donation?
Growth through sharing! You can help us by sharing our vision. Become an ambassador, share our social media posts, or tell those around you about our work. Every voice for clean water counts!
